Damkesh mystical spring, sacred to locals

Damkesh Spring is one of the mystical attractions of Gilan Province, which is sometimes dry and sometimes full of water. However, no one knows the time of drought.

The locals find out that the spring is active only when a cool breeze comes from the maple tree that spring is underneath it.

Some consider the phenomena as a result of tides, while many believe that the rainfalls are effective in drought.

The spring has been registered on Iran’s National Heritage list recently.

The locals of the 40-family village near the spring consider it as a sacred one, taking care of the spring like a natural treasure.
